A DesignWise Press Release is a newsworthy story, written and illustrated with photos and/or video, then delivered to our select media contacts in northeastern Wisconsin, statewide, throughout the Midwest or nationwide to alert the news media of something special that is related to your business.
We maintain an active Midwest media database of more than 150 news editors, TV anchors, radio and newspaper reporters, segmented into three specific types of media:
- print journalism (newspapers and magazine),
- broadcast media (TV and radio)
- online (bloggers and Web magazines).
We deliver DesignWise PR via email to our own private regional lists of assignment editors, newscasters and reporters using a sophisticated distribution system that tracks the open-rate and click-throughs. Afterwards, we provide clients with followup reports on the response level to each press release. We also publish Door County regional press releases on our own popular DesignWise Web magazines and share those story links across a network of topical Facebook Pages. Our Web magazines act as a repository of DesignWise press releases to insure your company’s news is even more prominent on the Web, searchable via major search engines.

The use of press releases is common in the field of public relations (PR). Typically, the aim is to attract favorable media attention to our clients and/or provide publicity for newsworthy products or events that you wish to promote. A press release provides reporters with information containing the basics needed to develop a news story. Since we are journalists, our press release are typically picked up and printed as submitted, but without a by-line, since we are not directly employed by them. Many of the stories you read in the Pulse or The Gannett Papers were written here in our studios.
Press releases can announce a range of news items, such as scheduled events, personal promotions, awards, new products and services, sales and other financial data, accomplishments, etc. They are often used in generating a feature story or are sent for the purpose of announcing news conferences, upcoming events or a change in corporation.
